Job summary

The Mercer County Library System’s Robbinsville Branch is seeking a part-time Youth Services Librarian I (19 hours/week). The role focuses on children’s and teen services, with scheduling that includes evenings and Saturdays, and active outreach to schools and the community.

You will work with Youth Services, Adult Services, and Circulation staff to deliver programs, readers’ advisory, displays, and social media outreach.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
• New Jersey Professional Librarian’s Certificate required.
• Experience in youth services and community outreach preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer reference questions from patrons of all ages and provide readers’ advisory.
• Plan and implement programs for children and teens, including story time and crafts.
• Access databases and teach patrons how to use them.
• Assist with outreach events and initiatives.
• Create bulletin boards and displays.
• Contribute to library social media campaigns.
• Participate in the Library’s blog.
