Job summary

The City of Murfreesboro is seeking a Program Instructor to develop and deliver programs in the Community Services Division. This role supports parks and recreation activities, including athletics, aquatics, cultural arts, and performing arts, under supervision.

Responsibilities include planning, instructing specialties, coordinating with staff and contracted artists, processing registrations, maintaining records, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• CPR/AED certifications required or obtainable within six months of hire.
• Driver’s license valid in Tennessee required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate in English to ensure safe operations.
• Plan, organize, and instruct community programs in the assigned area.
• Monitor the facility and participants; enforce safety rules.
• Process registrations and admissions; balance cash drawer and record transactions.
• Maintain records, reports, and calendars; assist with special events.
