Job summary

Liliʻuokalani Trust in Maui seeks a Youth Engagement Specialist I to support safe, welcoming environments for Native Hawaiian youth and their ʻohana. You will build trusting relationships, facilitate youth participation, and help with program operations across LT sites.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, cultural competence, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel as needed. A bachelor’s degree and youth-serving experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain respectful, positive relationships with youth and families.
• Encourage youth participation and foster belonging in LT programs.
• Model appropriate behavior, healthy relationships, and effective communication.
• Respond to behavioral escalations with appropriate follow-up per teams.
• Include youth voice in program development and decisions.
• Assist with welcoming participants to spaces and outreach.
• Provide program facilitation support and logistics as needed.
• Maintain safe and supportive program environments and safety protocols.
• Assist with participant transportation when needed.
• Complete administrative tasks and front desk coverage as required.
