Job summary

Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is seeking a Youth Programs Director for Meadowood Neighborhood Center. You will lead year-round K-12 after-school and summer programs, supervise on-site youth programming, and ensure safe, engaging environments while aligning with MMSD goals.

The role emphasizes staff leadership, program development, and community collaboration within a 40-hour workweek, with some evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least two years of post high school education in recreation, education, community organizing, volunteer coordination, or related field.
• Experience in recreation, education, community organizing, volunteer coordination, or related fields.
• Experience in developing, managing, leading, and evaluating recreation programs or equivalent knowledge.
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and recreation program planning knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, customers, and community organizations.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
• First Aid and/or CPR certification (required within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and supervise K-12 after school and summer programs.
• Serve as on-site supervisor for Meadowood youth programs.
• Monitor program effectiveness and provide staff feedback.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise seasonal staff.
• Track participation statistics and monitor site budget.
• Build collaborative partnerships with community agencies.
