Job summary

Hudson Guild seeks an Activity Specialist under the supervision of the Director to develop and facilitate daily/weekly activity lesson plans in specialty areas and collaborate with Group Leaders to ensure engaging, inclusive programs for youth. You will help design curriculum, supervise groups, and support exhibits and presentations.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years' experience or 4 years in a special area with portfolio/samples of your work.
• Experience with middle school students or youth services.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to engage children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate activity lesson plans/curriculum in area(s) of specialty to foster skill development.
• Collaborate with Group Leaders and staff to model facilitation and professional development.
• Maintain effective classroom management and positive behavior guidelines.
• Prepare participants for exhibits, final presentations, and events, boosting self-esteem and confidence.
• Assist staff in all activities for orderly program operation, including supervision during meals, field trips, events, and dismissal.
• Supervise participants to maintain a positive youth-focused atmosphere and a safe environment.
• Maintain attendance, progress records, logs, sign-in/out sheets, and incident reports.
• Manage area materials, room organization, and report damage to supervisor.
• Communicate professionally with staff, parents/guardians, children, and community members.
• Uphold program policies and promote inclusive, respectful environment for all.
• Participate in mandatory professional development and meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
