Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation is seeking a Security Supervisor for the San Jose Job Corps center. The role focuses on enforcing safety standards, supervising the Security Department, and ensuring a safe environment for students and staff.

You will coordinate screening of people entering the center, conduct patrols, and manage incident documentation. The position requires a valid California Guard Card, license, and CPR/FA certification, with training on zero-tolerance enforcement.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Two years work-related experience.
• Preferred: Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or closely related field. Safety Certifications, law enforcement experience. Extensive experience.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of investigative techniques. Knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certificates. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to obtain state Security officer certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce center safety policies and procedures.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of Safety and Security.
• Screen staff, students, and visitors entering/exiting the site.
• Serve as designated safety and occupational health officer.
• Prepare reports and document observations in CIS case notes.
• Escort and monitor students; respond to emergencies.
• Patrol assigned areas and report hazards.
• Conduct building security checks and maintain facilities.
• Enforce Zero Tolerance Policy and report violations.
• Attend required training and perform other duties as assigned.
