Job summary

Bernalillo County's Youth Services Center in Albuquerque is seeking a Youth Program Officer I. The role provides supervision, care, and treatment of residents in custody, maintaining safety and order within the center and supporting the community's well-being.

The position requires a High School Diploma and two years of related experience, or equivalent. County offers comprehensive benefits, remote/flex options as appropriate, and a $5,000 sign-on incentive for external candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two (2) years post High School related experience working with youth or two (2) years in security or direct patient care, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security, order and discipline to prevent disturbance and ensure safety of residents, staff and community.
• Process new residents, including strip searching and orientation to center rules and regulations.
• Maintain logs of incidents, monitor resident locations, and supervise activities.
• Counsel residents in group and individual sessions and provide progress reports to supervisors.
• Transport residents to court, hospitals or other facilities as needed and assist with intake processes.
