A community-focused organization in Honolulu is looking for a Program Director to oversee a comprehensive program supporting youth and families. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, experience in management, and skills in grant writing and program planning. The role includes leadership in community-building efforts and requires a valid driver's license and vehicle access.
Parents And Children Together provides afterschool drop-in centers for youth ages 7-18 who live in and around two public housing complexes, Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi in Halawa. These programs promote the development of healthy youth, families and community with an abundance of positive experiences for youth and family members including educational, recreational, community building and support services. Services, activities and hours may vary by site.
The Program Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive program, and supervises the delivery of voluntary culturally appropriate and strengths-based development of healthy youth and families by providing educational, recreational, community building and support services. The Program Director works in collaboration with the appropriate Program Directors to ensure community building efforts and programs and services are streamlined and congruent to include youth participants. This position provides program leadership that fosters a team-based approach to delivering services and represents the agency in youth development related events and advocacy issues. The Program Director identifies and seeks to eliminate barriers to service access through grant writing, program improvement, and involvement in community building efforts, or groups specific to addressing the impact of youth development in our community.
This position is also responsible for program and contract performance and reporting, performance and quality improvement activities, budget planning and implementation, fund development, general program administration, and various program facilities. The position is under the direct supervision of the Executive Vice President of Community Building.
Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Counseling, or related field plus two years experience in an executive or administrative capacity involving grant writing, fiscal management, and program planning, required. Plus, two years experience in management of personnel, required. Masters Degree preferred.
