Job summary

The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Centers in North Carolina are seeking a part-time youth program assistant to support planning and execution of center activities. The role involves registering new members, guiding youth, and helping lead engaging programs in a community setting.

Ideal applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with preference for prior work with children and youth. This role requires physical activity and occasional travel to events.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; experience with children/youth preferred.
Valid Driver License required.

Responsibilities

Promotes and stimulates program participation.
Assists with the registration of new members and participates in Center orientation.
Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
Implements and administers programs, services and activities for Center members.
Monitors and evaluates programs for safety and quality; prepares periodic reports.
Assists with outreach to sustain and increase program membership.
Maintains facility and equipment in good working order and keeps spaces clean.
Reports repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
