Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. is seeking a Youth Peer Support Specialist to empower youth in the Children’s Behavioral Health Home program.

The YPS uses lived experience to support clients aged 18-30, participates in care planning, and collaborates with the BHH team to build strengths and self-advocacy. The role attends team meetings, supports Plan of Care components, coordinates peer groups, and documents in accordance with HIPAA and MaineCare policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be between ages 18-30 per policy.
• Must be receiving or have received services related to behavioral health.
• Must have reliable vehicle and valid license.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with youth in the BHH program.
• Assist youth and BHH team with the Plan of Care.
• Provide one-to-one peer support focused on hope and self-determination.
• Coordinate and facilitate youth peer support groups and activities.
• Participate as a member of the BHH team and contribute to care planning.
