Job summary

Comcareme is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to deliver youth-focused peer support across offices, homes, and community settings in Maine. The role involves becoming Maine Peer Connect certified, conducting one-on-one sessions with youth, and coordinating with the YPSSN team to run workshops.

You will travel to diverse regions, document interactions within 24 hours, and help youth access education or vocational services.

Qualifications

• Ages 18-26 and lived experience with Severe Emotional Disturbance or Severe Mental Illness.
• Must have a valid State of Maine Driver's license and a registered, insured vehicle.
• Able to pass background checks including DMV, CPS, APS, and Criminal checks.

Responsibilities

• Attend Peer Connect training to become Maine Peer Connect certified within agency timelines.
• Provide one-on-one peer support to youth using Peer Connect curriculum.
• Travel across the region to deliver services, including rural areas.
• Link youth with resources and assist with referrals and accessing services.
• Maintain office hours and participate in workshops and speaker events.
• Document all contacts and activities within 24 hours.
