Job summary

Cahaba Center for Mental Health is hiring for a part-time position in Dallas, Perry, and Wilcox Counties, Alabama. The successful candidate will provide peer support to youth and collaborate with treatment teams to aid in each client’s recovery.

Responsibilities include documenting services in health records and obtaining certification as a Certified Youth Peer Specialist. Applicants must have lived experience with mental health services and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience as a member of the target population (youth or young adult mental health services).
• High school diploma required.
• Applicants must disclose any medical conditions that restrict driving ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to youth based on shared lived experience.
• Document services and information in the electronic health record system.
• Obtain and maintain certification as a Certified Youth Peer Specialist.
• Collaborate with treatment team members to support each client’s recovery plan.
• Travel to service sites across all three counties in the service area.
