Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida, Inc. is seeking a Youth Outreach Support Services Specialist to provide direct face-to-face outreach to street runaway homeless youth in the SOP.

The role includes mentoring youth, facilitating access to medical, substance use, and trafficking prevention resources, and building partnerships with community providers. The position requires at least one year in social services or outreach, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; post-secondary preferred (Human Services, Marketing, Communications).
• At least one year experience in social services or community outreach.
• Knowledge of street runaway homeless youth populations preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills; mature with good judgement.
• Ability to provide linkage/referrals and follow-up services; work independently and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate Gateway Services and referrals for RHY.
• Conduct street outreach interviews, intakes and assessments.
• Provide case management, coaching and mentorship to youth; determine eligibility for services.
• Ensure data collection and monthly/quarterly reporting for agencies.
• Collaborate with community providers and law enforcement where needed.
• Coordinate activities with LSF staff and partner agencies.
• Build relationships with community partners and attend relevant meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
