Job summary

AmeriCorps member will support a youth-focused prescription drug misuse awareness campaign in West Virginia, coordinating events and advisory meetings with local youth coalitions and partners. This role emphasizes outreach, education, and community engagement to prevent substance use among youth.

Full-time service through The Martinsburg Initiative, with a living allowance and education award as part of AmeriCorps benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in community organizing or youth outreach preferred.
• Ability to use computers for communications, presentations, and data collection.
• Strong public speaking and recruitment skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support marketing and media campaigns to raise awareness about prescription drug misuse.
• Facilitate monthly youth advisory meetings and gather input for campaigns.
• Liaise with youth coalitions in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties and coordinate coalition meetings.
