Descrizione del lavoro

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Youth Mobile Crisis Mental Health Professional (Y-MHP) provides mobile, community-based crisis response and stabilization services for youth experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Working under general supervision, the Y-MHP conducts risk assessments, delivers brief clinical interventions, and coordinates crisis care to reduce immediate safety concerns and promote stabilization. The position participates on a multidisciplinary crisis team and may perform duties aligned with Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) functions, consistent with agency needs and applicable WAC/RCW requirements.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Y-MHP is distinguished from other crisis response roles by its exclusive focus on youth and adolescents, often responding in school, home, or youth-serving environments. Unlike adult crisis positions, the Y-MHP regularly engages parents, caregivers, and youth-serving systems to determine risk, stabilize crises, and coordinate short-term interventions. The role requires knowledge of developmental needs, family-system dynamics, and youth-specific crisis presentations. The Y-MHP functions as part of a multidisciplinary mobile crisis team and may carry DCR-related responsibilities, as assigned.
