Job summary

Discovery Ranch South, located near Three Peaks Recreational Park and overlooking Cedar City, Utah, seeks on-call mentors to support a residential program. Earn $17.00 per hour, with a minimum commitment of 64 hours per month, including two swing shifts per week, in a therapeutic, experiential setting.

• Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle check.
• Must have a current Utah driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
• Aegis training completed or in training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, structure, and continuity of care across the residential program.
• Provide crisis support during critical moments and collaborate with staff.
• Engage with students through experiential therapy activities and support healing journeys.

Part time - Day and Swing Shifts

On Call Mentors play a vital role in maintaining safety, structure, and continuity of care across the residential program. They are trained and can step in during critical moments, ensuring clients and staff receive the support they need. This role requires reliability, strong crisis skills, and a commitment to teamwork and consistency.

LOOKING FOR ON-CALL - Work a minimum of 64 hours per month, 2 swing shifts per week

Starting pay is $17.00 an hour for all mentors.

Help teenage students in a therapeutic setting as they progress on their healing journey. Located near Three Peaks Recreational Park and overlooking Cedar City, Utah, Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center based in experiential therapy.

Experiential therapy activities include horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. Through these shared experiences, a mentor builds rapport with our students. These relationships are key to the healing process. Often the relationships formed with mentors are the most meaningful to our students and create deep and lasting change.

Requirements

Qualifications—

• Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle check.
• Must have a current Utah driver's license.
• Will need to be CPR/First Aid (within the first 30 days of employment) and Aegis trained.

Preferred Skills -

• Effective time management skills, boundaries, good listener, and adhere to rules and regulations.
• Effective communication both written and verbally.
• Physically fit.
• Ability to complete responsibilities under various weather conditions such as snow, ice, wind and heat.
• Ability to walk, run, lift, or any other related activities.
• No sensitivity to smells or animals.
• Work well in a team setting environment.
