Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA in Ambler, PA is seeking a dedicated early childhood educator to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, hourly position supports young learners through engaging activities and a positive learning environment.

You will work with families to promote development, manage daily attendance, and help deliver curriculum that is child-centered and developmentally appropriate. Join a mission-driven nonprofit that strengthens our community.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or human services from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years of verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining control of environments that build children’s self esteem.
• Implement and plan curriculum for program; ensuring child centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences throughout classrooms using positive reinforcement for behavioral management.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations as well as any related to child behavior concerns or development that may require early intervention with parents/guardians.
• Being patient and kind with our parents/guardians, communicating effectively and in a timely manner regarding children’s program experience, progress (written as well as verbal) while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.
• Accurately maintain daily attendance records, emergency contact binders, and allergy reports, as well compliant paperwork within timesheets, incident reports, weekly reports, and child observation reports.
• Ensure centers are maintained with quality learning materials, organized accordingly in labeled containers associated with appropriate learning center
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or more as needed
• Actively campaign for the Annual Campaign an work to develop donors and volunteers
