Qualifications

• Experience working with court-involved youth required.
• Familiarity with Brooklyn and local youth challenges; family experience preferred.
• Familiarity with strength-based youth development principles.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mentor up to 13 court-involved youth ages 13–18.
• Develop healthy communication skills and coping mechanisms with mentees and families.
• Support mentees' short- and long-term goal planning.
• Escort mentees to school, court, meetings as needed.
• Refer participants to community resources with Service Coordinator.
• Create engaging programming and high-quality services.
• Attend bi-weekly supervision with Program Director.
• Participate in case conferences and staff meetings.
• Communicate with ACS and DOP staff as appropriate.
• Plan trips and events for participants.
• Incorporate participant feedback into program planning.
• Participate in agency work groups and ACS training.
