Job summary

United Pathways in Elko County, Nevada, seeks an In-School Mental Health Navigator as an AmeriCorps/YMHC member in local middle and high schools. You will lead groups, deliver curriculum-based activities, and provide a safe, respectful space for youth.

Members receive CHW I & II training, supervised fieldwork, state certification at no cost, and serve about 30 hours per week. Benefits include a living allowance near $21/hour and an Education Award up to $5176.50 on completion.

Qualifications

• Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps/YMHC; age 18–24; resident of Elko County, NV.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of students per curriculum and training.
• Develop age- and content-appropriate activities based on assessed needs.
• Provide a safe and respectful space for youth.
• Deliver and score assessments and checks.
• Review data to set student goals.
• Assist in classroom with interventions as needed.
• Communicate with school staff and AmeriCorps program staff.
• Attend trainings and orientations.
• Participate in weekly development seminars for CHW certifications.
• Represent United Pathways, YMHC, AmeriCorps, and UWNNS professionally.
