Job summary

Youth & Opportunity United is hiring an AmeriCorps Mental Health Lead for the 2026-2027 program year. This role bridges clinical expertise with afterschool enrichment, focusing on social-emotional learning and mental health support.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related fields, and a commitment to serving youth aged 7-18. Responsibilities include leading mental health groups and providing emotional support. This position is part-time during the school year and may require full-time hours in the summer.

Qualifications

• Must complete the AmeriCorps application.
• Strong interest and/or experience working with youth ages 7 to 18.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead daily mental health and wellness groups for youth.
• Provide emotional support during afterschool hours.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director to respond to youth crises.
