Job summary

State of Utah is seeking a kitchen helper to cook, bake, and serve regular and special meals to clients and staff in an on-site setting. You will ensure food is kept at the proper temperatures and assist with basic food preparation and inventory.

The ideal candidate enjoys cooking and following recipes to provide nutritious meals for youth. A background check is required, drug test may be required, and the position is full-time with in-office work at 2310 W 2770 S, West Valley City, UT 84119.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cook and prepare nutritious meals following recipes.
• Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation.
• May be required to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff.
• Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering.
• Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques.
• Practices of food safety and public health protection.
• Maintains inventory.
• Tracks receipts.
• Cleans, sterilizes and/or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
