Are you goal driven? Then the Youth Liaison position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.

As the Youth Liaison, you will support youth accessing services at the One Stop Centers. The Youth Liaison will guide youth to the programs that can support their educational and employment goals. The Youth Liaison will remain up to date on local youth resources and guide youth through the registration process for provider services.

Responsibilities
  • Successful Elements:
  • Identify young adults aged 18–24 through initial assessment and inform them of available WIOA Adult and WIOA Youth services
  • Review WIOA intake application and supporting documents compiled by providers and certify WIOA Youth eligibility in accordance with federal, state and CWP policy
  • Work with Site Manager to identify candidates for the program
  • Track youth referrals to programs using ETO
  • Identify AJC youth customers who are suitable for co-enrollment in WIOA Youth programs and assist JFES Career Agents and WIOA Youth providers to coordinate services
  • Collaborate with local area training providers and refer clients as appropriate
  • Provide referrals to community partners when appropriate
  • Contact employers/post-secondary education opportunities by phone or in person and schedule face-to-face meetings
  • Conduct regular assessments tailored to guiding the participant in their career goals
  • Conduct case management duties to determine program eligibility and maintain compliance with funder and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act guidelines
  • Attend events to promote Youth Services and meet Youth where they are in the community
  • Represent the AJC at events that potentially take place in the evenings or on weekends
  • Other opportunities as available
Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Experience working with disconnected youth
  • Skills and experience in providing career development and counseling assistance
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation required
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree, and three years of work experience in case management/human services or related experience
  • Ability to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
