StaffVengers is looking for a Youth Leader to support the YMCA's mission of developing youth potential. The role involves planning and leading activities, ensuring safety, and fostering positive relationships with children and teens. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 18 college units in related fields, previous experience with youth, strong leadership skills, and a willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. This dynamic position requires indoor and outdoor work, including evenings and weekends.

This role involves planning and leading activities, fostering positive relationships, and serving as a role model in alignment with YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead age‑appropriate recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants by enforcing YMCA policies and procedures.
• Build positive relationships with youth, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members.
• Encourage participation, teamwork, and personal growth in all activities.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors about program progress and participant needs.
• Assist with program setup, cleanup, and general maintenance of activity areas.
• Uphold the YMCA’s mission and core values at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 completed college units in child development, recreation, education, or a related field (required).
• Previous experience working with children or teens in a group setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage groups effectively and respond calmly to emergencies.

• Must pass background checks as required by local and state regulations.
