Job summary

Boulder County Community Justice Services seeks a Juvenile Services Professional II to join the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC). The role involves working in a 24/7 detention/assessment environment for youth under 18, requiring strong communication and teamwork to coordinate with youth, families, and partner agencies.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a Wednesday–Saturday night shift (11pm–9am) at the Boulder County Justice Center.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years combined education and experience with youth, related human services, or transferable skills.
  • Experience in direct service provision, working with diverse/at-risk youth, or criminal justice settings is preferred.
  • Ability to advocate for youth and make decisions in changing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and secure facility and environment for youth.
  • Complete assessments with youth and families and conduct intakes.
  • Provide verbal and physical crisis intervention as needed.
  • Administer medication and oversee basic health-related procedures.
  • Conduct secure transports and supervise structured programming for youth.
  • Maintain perimeter checks and contribute to quality control measures.
  • Support interagency relationships and be ready to respond to emergencies.
