Job summary

Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, Juvenile Division, is seeking an Assessment Specialist I. The role involves conducting administrative hearings, interviewing youth and families, preparing investigations and risk assessments, and making dispositions in collaboration with court staff and service providers.

The candidate will assess social histories, determine needs, and coordinate with multiple agencies to support case disposition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in psychology, sociology or related field.
• Experience in juvenile justice system preferred (1 year).
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and comply with IT/security policies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts Administrative Hearings and prepares Court Investigation Reports.
• Interviews detained youth and families; assesses needs and risks; makes disposition recommendations.
• Coordinates with law enforcement, school officials, probation, social services and other agencies.
