Classified position is announced to all qualified applicants. This position will remain open until filled. 7.0 hours per day/ 174 days per year/Salary Grade 6 $19.60 per hour (Support Salary Table 2025-2026) (MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE) GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the assigned teacher or the school principal or the Youth-In-Custody Director the youth-in-custody assistant supports and assists the teacher in conducting the YIC classroom program or is assigned to several schools, providing direct assistance to YIC students attending regular school programs. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. 2. District training (required after hiring). 3. Basic knowledge of academic subjects. 4. Ability to establish relationships, understand and accept at-risk students. 5. Must understand various age groups and be able to effectively motivate andencourage students. 6. Must be capable of maintaining relationships with parents, foster parents, case workers, counselors, etc. 7. Some experience in working with student-age youth preferred. 8. Drivers License. 9. Minimum three years experience in educational settings. 10. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test may be required in the future. **Davis School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer**
