Job summary

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center seeks a Housing Manager in Sacramento, CA to oversee the STEP Shelter and Transitional Living Program. You will supervise Housing Advocates, provide client case management, and ensure smooth operations in a trauma-informed, youth-focused environment.

In this role you will manage staff schedules, ensure data integrity and reporting, and collaborate with partners to advance housing outcomes for 18-24-year-olds.

Qualifications

• Experience working with LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness.
• 2+ years of management experience or 3–5 years working with at-risk youth and housing.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; demonstrated public speaking and facilitation.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, and backgrounds.
• CPR or BLS certification within three months of employment.
• Availability for Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday; some evenings may be required.
• Proficiency in English; bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and provide client case management.
• Ensure compliance, data collection, documentation and reporting.
• Maximize positive outcomes for youth receiving housing services.
• Hire, train and supervise housing staff and interns; provide supervision and professional development.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for housing programs.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning; act as crisis control manager.
• Coordinate with leadership and funders; participate in staff meetings and program planning.
