Job summary

Niles Park District is seeking Hockey Instructors to lead classes for children ages 5-14. You will run practices or skills stations, manage equipment and sizing, and coordinate with other instructors for warm-ups and weekly skill focus.

You must be able to demonstrate advanced hockey skills, be flexible with evening and weekend shifts, and have prior skating experience. Training is provided for working with youth, with additional responsibilities including safety reporting and parent

Qualifications

Flexible and available to work evening and weekend shifts.
Previous skating and hockey experience; training provided for working with children.

Responsibilities

Lead hockey classes for kids aged 5-14, running practices or skills stations (up to 5 skaters).
Arrive 30 minutes early to hand out lender gear and stay 15 minutes after to put gear away.
Assist players with gear sizing during initial sessions and keep gear room neat.
Set up equipment before classes and coordinate warm-up and weekly skill focus with fellow instructors.
Fill out evaluation forms during the last week of classes and report safety incidents to Hockey Director and Rink Manager.
Maintain communication with parents regarding activities and each child’s progress.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Hockey Director and participate in 4th of July parade.
