Job summary

Erie Family Health seeks a School Based Health Educator to deliver sexual health, nutrition education, and substance use prevention to students and patients. The role includes coordinating health campaigns, outreach, and youth engagement to promote Erie services and smooth transitions to adult care.

The position is a paid year-long program with on-the-job mentorship to build leadership capacity in the candidate, including opportunities for health center outreach and collaboration with school

Qualifications

• Experience delivering health education in schools or community settings.
• Ability to coordinate with school staff and health partners.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Capacity to develop health topics for youth audiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate 1:1 nutrition/health coaching meetings with students.
• Implement health education curricula with students at schools and community groups.
• Coordinate specialists (vision, dental) to see students at school.
• Develop monthly adolescent health topics for bulletin boards/newsletters.
• Host health promotion activities at lunchrooms and school events.
• Support Erie’s school advisory boards and youth committees.
• Collaborate with health leadership to reduce barriers to engagement.
