Prospect Park YMCA is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Sports Instructor to work with children and teens in Brooklyn, NY. You will provide a fun, safe experience, teach progressive gymnastics skills, and promote teamwork and sportmanship in a supportive learning environment.

The role requires at least a year of experience, strong communication, and current First Aid/CPR; YMCA Coaching 101 and Heads Up concussion certs must be completed within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching children/teens sports in a structured setting.
• Knowledge of youth development stages.
• Content expert in designated sports activity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members of all ages.
• Current First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Must attend the YMCA Coaching 101 Training within ninety days of employment.
• Must receive the CDC HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports certificate within thirty days of employment.

• Develop program objectives and goals with the supervisor.
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Supervise participants per YMCA standards and guidelines.
• Modify plans to meet participant needs.

• Teach rules and fundamentals; enhance basic skills.
• Communicate with parents about progress and next session.
• Ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained.
