Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking an entry-level temporary seminary teacher to instruct classes for youth. The role involves lesson preparation, effective presentation, and may require teaching more than one class as needed under the direction of a program administrator.

The position requires a basic understanding of teaching and working with youth and aims to deepen youth conversion to the restored gospel, helping them qualify for temple blessings and prepare themselves

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to teach and motivate youth.
• Experience engaging youth and managing a classroom.
• Strong communication and self-awareness.
• Respectful relationships and integrity.
• Familiarity with disability support understanding.
• Aligns with the Church policies and leadership.

Responsibilities

• A substitute teacher works in partnership with a program administrator to learn the gospel.
• Effectively prepare and present lessons to students.
• Assist students to fulfill their role in the learning process.
• Teach in the Savior’s Way by focusing on Jesus Christ, loving those you teach, teaching by the Spirit, teaching the Doctrine, and inviting diligent learning.
• Create learning experiences of the restored gospel—centered on Jesus Christ, focused on your students, and rooted in the word of God.
• Participate in regular training opportunities to improve your job performance and career development.
• Seek for, receive, and act on feedback through student surveys, self-evaluations, and observations from your leaders.
• Other duties as assigned
