Job summary

Child & Family Focus, Inc. in Delaware County, PA seeks a Prevention Education Specialist for its Drug and Alcohol Prevention Education Program (PEP).

The role blends remote and in-person service, with one in-office day per week and occasional evening/weekend hours based on caseload and training. The specialist will deliver evidence-based programs for caregivers, families, and youth (LST, SAAF, TGFD, Unity Circle, Girls Circle, Teen Intervene), complete documentation, create materials in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Psychology, Human Development, or related field
• One or more years of experience working as a Prevention Specialist or in providing prevention education, health education, or a similar related service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidenced-based, caregiver- and family-focused prevention programs in school, community, justice, and office-based settings.
• Deliver youth-focused prevention programs including LST, The Blues Program, TGFD, Unity Circle, Girls Circle, and The Council for Boys and Young Men.
• Deliver Teen Intervene and other interventions to at‑risk youth when necessary.
• Complete and maintain all necessary documentation related to programming, including attendance sheets and pre- and post-surveys.
• Develop materials for effective program delivery through Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Assist in outreach and marketing of available programming to schools and community organizations.
• Participate in health and resource fairs, coalition meetings, and other community events to disseminate prevention information.
• Meet productivity goals set by the Delaware County DHS, Division of Drug and Alcohol.
• Maintain communication and collaboration with Prevention Education Program team members and leadership.
• Stay up to date on the latest alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs trends.
• Apply Trauma-Informed Care values in all work practices (Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment).
• Additional duties as assigned.
