Job summary

The YMCA of Columbus is seeking a passionate Flag Football Instructor to coach youth ages 4–12 in a safe, engaging environment.

You will plan and lead age-appropriate practices, teach routes, passing, catching, flag pulling, and defensive positioning; supervise scrimmages; and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and the core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Must be at least 16 with coaching experience and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications within 60 days.

• Ability to relate to diverse groups.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid certifications must be obtained within 60 days.
• Must be at least 16 years old with coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate flag football practices for youth aged 4–12.
• Teach fundamental skills: passing, receiving, throwing, route running, flag pulling, defense.
• Demonstrate drills and game concepts; oversee scrimmages or games.
• Encourage confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship and skill development.
• Model YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring.
• Maintain class records and comply with YMCA policies.
• Supervise volunteers and assist with equipment and facilities.
