Youth Fitness Instructor For Ninja Zone

Location: Gamble Nippert YMCA

Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Summary: Responsible for transforming lives and promoting engagement by helping youth achieve goals, make friends, and connect with our Y community through NinjaZone classes. Create a fun, safe environment for children to explore, move, and grow, using imaginative play and creative instruction to teach foundational skills like balance, coordination, and listening. Foster community within the class and help youth build confidence, focus, and independence. Modify classes as needed to accommodate varied health, ability, and cultural needs.

Essential Functions:

• Instruct high-energy NinjaZone classes following curriculum.
• Review lesson plans, prepare materials, and set up the space.
• Create a fun, safe environment; arrive early, stay after class, and clean up.
• Keep attendance records and provide program evaluations and feedback.
• Understand participant needs and provide a positive environment to help them achieve their goals.
• Ensure classes start and end on time, follow the schedule, and maintain appropriate intensity.
• Greet members courteously and respect individual goals and needs.
• Demonstrate dedication to youth health, fitness, and development.
• Adhere to association standards and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience with children (teaching, coaching, babysitting, daycare)
• High School Diploma or in pursuit (16+ years old)
• CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid certifications required within XX days of hire
• Willingness to train in NinjaZone curriculum within 30 days
• Attend training and meetings regularly
• Follow center policies and procedures, including substitution policies
• Excellent communication skills
