Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) is seeking a Youth Field Support Technician to assist field crews, train Youth Crew Leaders, and provide logistics support across MCC projects. Under the Youth Program Manager, you will help ensure policies are followed and coordinate field-office communications.
This AmeriCorps position runs 02/22/2027–08/20/2027, is full time, with age 21–35. MCC offers an education award, health coverage, living allowance, stipend, and training to participants in Montana.
Montana Conservation Corps' (MCC) mission is to inspire young people through hands‑on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land and engaged citizens who improve their communities. Founded in 1991, MCC is a private, nonprofit organization. There are 4 regions, with approximately 40 staff and 300 members who serve each year in leader, member or intern positions. MCC receives Federal grant money through the Corporation for National & Community Service. This grant is used to provide participant stipends and education awards, as well as to support our programming: offering leadership development to Leaders and Members. MCC offers crew‑based programming that uses natural resource and community service projects to foster personal and crew development. While most of the work we accomplish is in the field, our main goal is not to build trails but to help members develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to be active citizens in their community.
The Field Support Technician (FST) responsibilities include supporting the training of Youth Crew Leaders and providing field visitation and logistical support to help ensure the successful completion of MCC projects and programming. The FST, under the supervision of the Youth Program Manager, works with all regional staff and must maintain communication between the office and the field. The FST helps ensure that MCC policies and procedures are followed by all members and leaders while establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with project partners. The FST will be called upon to lead or join an existing crew when necessary. FSTs must be self‑motivated and flexible in order to meet the changing needs of the position. The FST is an AmeriCorps participant and is entitled to the benefit package offered to all AmeriCorps participants.
