Job summary

Pathways Youth & Family Services in Abilene, TX seeks a Youth and Family Support Specialist to monitor, coordinate, and support foster, kinship, and adoptive families caring for youths 14+. You will liaise with families, providers, and Pathways to ensure consistent, quality care.

The role emphasizes visits, documentation, action plans, and transitioning youth for independence, with a 40-hour week and flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a human services field with child-placing experience or practicum.
• Alternative: advanced degree with supervised child-placing experience.
• Minimum two years’ supervised child-placing experience for bachelor’s degree holders.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to kinship and foster/adopt families to meet standards.
• Conduct and document regular visits to homes and trainings during visits.
• Develop and monitor action/safety plans and ensure timely documentation.
• Link families to community supports and services as needed.
• Assist with school enrollment and transition planning for youth.
• Participate in Service Plan and Aftercare Plan development.
