Job summary

Lincoln Land Community College is looking for part-time, non‑benefited instructors to teach various non‑credit academic enrichment classes for school‑age youth. Areas of instruction include fine arts, coding, science, math, and more.

Instructors will develop curriculum, provide a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate reporting among other responsibilities. Pay will be no less than $28/hour, with additional needs for ACT Test prep instructors at $38/hour.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the corresponding area or a related field of the ACT.
  • Recent teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum for non‑credit classes.
  • Provide a safe, positive, and innovative learning environment.
  • Manage student behavior and report concerns.
  • Maintain accurate reporting (attendance, evaluations, etc.).
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment of students.
  • Submit HR paperwork, supply lists, and lesson plans.
  • Assume responsibility for materials and facilities.
  • Comply with department and college policies.

Job description

Overview

Lincoln Land Community College is looking for contractual, part-time, non‑benefited instructors to teach a variety of non‑credit academic enrichment classes to school‑age youth. Opportunities exist to teach in the fall or spring semesters and/or the College for Kids Summer Camp program. Instructors set class dates and times and are empowered to offer as many classes as desired based on their interests and skill sets.

Areas of instruction include fine arts, creative and performing arts, computer science and gaming, coding, graphic design, fitness and health, history, communication and language arts, public speaking, foreign languages, science, math, STEAM, STEM, arts and crafts, photography, gardening, workforce and career exploration, personal finance, magic, and strategy and role‑playing games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop curriculum for non‑credit classes
  • Provide a safe, positive, and innovative learning environment that promotes active, engaged learning for all students
  • Manage student behavior and report concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator or designee
  • Maintain accurate reporting (attendance, evaluations, etc.)
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment of students for classes
  • Submit HR paperwork, supply/material lists, and lesson plans by established deadlines
  • Assume responsibility for the care of materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities
  • Report any concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator
  • Comply with department and college policies and procedures

Pay is dependent upon class taught but will be no less than $28/hour. Work schedules will depend upon student enrollment. In addition, instructors are needed to teach LLCC’s ACT Test Preparation Seminar at $38/hour.

Minimum Requirements for ACT Test Prep Instructors
  • Applicants must possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the corresponding area or a related field of the ACT
  • Recent teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
