Job summary

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is seeking a Youth Instructor to plan, implement, and supervise engaging activities for children and teens, fostering growth in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include leading enrichment classes, managing behavior with positive strategies, coordinating with parents and staff, and maintaining records and safety compliance during program operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• 6 months of experience working with children.
• Ability to supervise and organize staff.
• Complete all online trainings within 30 days of hire.
• Criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead youth enrichment classes.
• Create and administer program-specific activities per curriculum.
• Use positive discipline and redirection to manage behavior.
• Engage and encourage children during activities.
• Provide feedback to parents and school staff as needed.
• Set up/monitor equipment and report repairs.
• Maintain attendance and progress records.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Uphold YMCA safety, supervision, risk management policies.
