Bartram’s Garden is seeking a Director of Youth Engagement to lead equitable, nature-based education for learners from pre-K to post-secondary. You will oversee a team of educators, build partnerships with local schools and community organizations, and develop curricula across agriculture, ecology, urban forestry, and early learning.

The role reports to the Chief Campus and Operations Officer and includes budget oversight, staff development, and collaboration on program evaluation and expansion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing a team or supervising staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse communities and commitment to equity.

Responsibilities

• Direct development and implementation of all youth education programming.
• Create policies and procedures for safety, supervision, and trauma-informed learning.
• Lead year-round youth programming in agriculture, ecology, urban forestry, and early learning ages Pre-K through middle school.
• Oversee communications with the City Workforce Development intermediary and reporting.
• Manage outcomes and reporting for apprenticeship programs and coordinate with state offices.
• Develop relationships with local schools, libraries, and higher education institutions.
• Lead staff trainings and provide professional development.
• Implement curricula and evaluation frameworks.
• Grow programs in alignment with capital improvements and capital projects.
• Coordinate with Finance to manage the department budget.
• Collaborate with HR to manage onboarding of youth workers.
• Support Development in funding requests and funder reporting.
