Job summary

City of Albuquerque seeks a part-time Playground Recreation Assistant to plan and run educational and recreational activities at designated site locations, ensuring children's safety and supporting higher level staff. The position is safety sensitive and temporary, with a maximum two-year term from the hire date.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED with 48 college credits, including 15 non-remedial hours in Math and English, and possess a NM driver's license or ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 48 college credits, including 15 non-remedial hours in Math and English.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or ability to obtain by date of hire.
• City Operator's Permit (COP) within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide educational activities to develop children's social, emotional and cognitive abilities.
• Assess progress and needs of children and consult with staff on educational concerns.
• Arrange indoor/outdoor environments to facilitate development and learning.
• Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment and manage materials for activities.
• Provide assistance and information to program participants.
• Perform Recreation Leader duties as needed and/or assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
