Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Recreation Assistant-5 to lead recreation aides, organize activities, and implement programs at assigned sites in Albuquerque. The role focuses on inclusivity, safety, and program development across age groups and abilities.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, enforcing facility rules, managing setup/teardown, and assisting with clerical duties. CPR/AED/First Aid readiness is required; formal training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in High School, High School Diploma, or GED.
• One (1) year of work experience in a recreational setting.
• *Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads and organizes recreational sports, activities, special events and arts and crafts projects at assigned locations.
• Leads and assists in developing, scheduling, and implementing recreational programs to meet needs of various age groups and participants with varying abilities.
• Provides recommendations to supervisor for program changes and innovation.
• Enforces rules of a community facility and/or program site.
• Schedules activities and arranges for use of a recreational facility in cooperation with supervisor.
