Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or related area required (master’s preferred).
• At least one year experience counseling disadvantaged youth.
• Knowledge of proper English grammar, format, and usage.
• Ability to write clear and narrative reports.
• Knowledge of financial aid and college procedures.
• Knowledge of Special programs and TRIO.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment of eligible participants.
• Assess and document academic potential and financial eligibility.
• Coordinate with target school counselors on project activities.
• Screen applicants for participant eligibility.
• Refer ineligible students to services.
• Assess participants’ post-secondary educational training potential.
• Maintain participant files per guidelines.
• Assist participants with career exploration and college selection.
