Job summary

The Kings County District Attorney’s Office, City of New York, seeks an Advocate for the Bureau of Youth Diversion to oversee PRD/YCP programs and support court-involved young adults. Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, scheduling, monitoring compliance, coordinating field activities, and preparing court-related documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field, e.g. Psychology or counseling.
• Three years of direct work experience in the field.
• High school graduation or equivalent with three years experience in community work.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates weekly PRD general meetings.
• Coordinates and supervises meetings of staff, volunteers, and counselors.
• Monitors participants' schedule adherence and contacts them for deviations.
• Creates weekly schedules tailored to participants' needs.
• Maintains relationships with participants' schools and assists with enrollments/appointments.
• Coordinates field trips, guest presenters, and group activities.
• Sets up assessment dates with Defense Counsel and participants' families.
• Prepares court update reports and provides input during court.
• Monitors participants via GPS devices and conducts visits.
• Maintains filing and correspondence systems for case files.
