Job summary

A New Direction For Youth in Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals in foster care who may have developmental disabilities. You will provide direct care and help implement programming under Minnesota regulations and agency policies.

This role requires driving, availability for holidays, and physical ability to assist with daily living tasks. Starting pay is $20 per hour, with a $11.41 sleep shift rate for overnight hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
• Ability to drive company vehicles.
• 1–2 years’ experience working with teens and/or people with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on holidays and during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to and from activities.
• Assist in implementing individual plans and behavioral goals.
• Assist individuals in pursuing recreational, social and community activities.
• Follow schedules and notify supervisor of changes.
• Administer medications as assigned and maintain MAR entries.
• Ensure individuals are dressed neatly and groomed.
• Support daily living skills like cooking, chores and cleaning.
• Document and communicate with supervisor and families as needed.
