Job summary

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking compassionate Direct Care Workers to support youth in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) and DDS CLA programs. You will supervise daily routines, support emotional and behavioral development, and work with treatment teams and families to provide trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Human Services preferred.
Experience in direct care and youth support.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Supervise individuals in daily routines and activities.
Support emotional, social, academic, and behavioral development.
Provide crisis prevention and counseling as needed.
Assist with food service, housekeeping, and program duties.
Maintain accurate documentation and records.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Follow agency policies, safety protocols, and boundaries.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and create a safe environment.
Perform other duties to support program success.
