Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated Direct Care staff to join our team. The role involves enhancing and protecting children’s health, safety, and well-being, and ensuring all duties are carried out to achieve programmatic goals.
Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Be responsible for knowing the children assigned to you daily.
- Monitor and be accountable for each child’s ongoing activities.
- Provide supervision necessary to ensure safety, including auditory and visual awareness.
- Intervene when necessary to maintain safety.
- Understand each child's individual differences and abilities.
- Recognize and support each child’s physical, mental, emotional, and social needs.
- Cultivate developmentally appropriate independence through planned, flexible activities.
- Share relevant information about each child's activities and needs with incoming caregivers and parents.
- Implement and follow individual service plans.
- Maintain daily progress notes, signing and dating each entry.
- Keep accurate documentation.
- Supervise residents at all times.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform light housekeeping activities.
- Dispense medication as needed.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with errands and shopping.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Caregiver with at-risk youths in an RTC setting is preferred.
- First aid and CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping and cooking skills.
- Ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent (including verified homeschooling).
