Good Samaritan Community Services is a 501(c) 3 organization that serves communities underserved by traditional social supports.We provide a continuum of integrated services to more than 3,500 individuals from the age of 6 weeks to 90 years of age. This includes more than 1,200 families via offices and locations in San Antonio, Brownsville, and other parts of South and West Texas.
Good Samaritan began as mission of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in 1939 and became an institution of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas in 1951 under the leadership of Bishop Everett Jones. Since the inception of our ministry, we have focused on serving the health, education, social and workforce needs of our neighbors.

The Youth Development Professional (Part-time) is responsible for cultivating positive relationships with youth by delivering age-appropriate curricula, structured recreation, chaperoning field trips, and assisting with daily program operations so that youth acquire the academic and personal skills necessary for success.

This job requires the ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Movement of documents and materials is required. The employee must occasionally lift or move between 25 – 35 pounds. Requires standing, walking, kneeling, hearing, typing, and good hand-eye coordination and the ability to drive a 15-passenger van. These physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Local and regional travel is required. This is a part-time position scheduled for 25 hours per week. The days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM to 5:30 PM. Hours may change based on agency needs, especially during the summer. Occasional long hours and weekend work may be required depending on the nature of the special actions, projects, or events.
The salary is $14.00/hour. A competitive compensation package will be offered for this position based upon the successful candidate’s education, skills, and experience and includes a generous paid time off policy and matching retirement plan.
