Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is seeking a part-time Site Manager to plan and lead activities across program areas such as Academic Success, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor/Environment, and Physical Education. You will foster positive youth development by guiding participants, maintaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere, and collaborating with staff to deliver engaging programs.

The role requires strong youth engagement, flexibility, and the ability to pass a DHR background

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Ability to engage youth in group settings.
  • Willingness to pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

Job Description Summary

Plan and lead a variety of activities within a specific program area, such as Academic Success, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor/Environment and Physical Education.

  • Foster an environment that supports positive youth development by:Encouraging and promoting active participation in programs
  • Providing consistent guidance and positive role modeling
  • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for all youth
  • Demonstrating a warm, caring attitude and using positive behavior management strategies with both individuals and groups
  • Plan, implement, and lead engaging programs, services, and activities tailored to the interests and needs of members
  • Communicate effectively with youth and team members, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Complete program planners on schedule, incorporating creative, age-appropriate, and appealing activities in assigned program areas
  • Participate actively in staff meetings to support team coordination and program quality
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong ability to engage and connect with youth in a group setting
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and mobility in supervising and supporting children in various environments
  • Knowledge of safety protocols including fire, severe weather, and lockdown procedures
  • Familiarity with and adherence to all Boys & Girls Club/KIDSTOP policies and procedures
  • Accountability for the proper use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facility spaces, including daily cleaning and organization
  • Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check
Education & Work Experience
  • Experience: One to three months of experience working with children preferred
Fundamental Relationships

Maintains regular, daily interaction with youth and supervisors to provide support, share information, and reinforce program goals. Builds and sustains positive relationships with school staff, member families, and the broader community, reflecting the values and mission of the organization.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota (BGCMN) offers all part-time employees paid emergency safe and sick time, jury duty time, and 401(k) plan with up to a 4% employer match (upon meeting required eligibility). Part‑time plus employees are also eligible for health benefits.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Physical Demands
  • Regularly: walking, bending, reaching, stretching, hearing, seeing, repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasionally: lifting up to 50 lbs. and stationary work.
Equipment Use
  • Regularly: phones and two‑way radios.
  • Occasionally: kitchen equipment, hand tools, Audio Visual equipment, copy/scan machines, and hand tools
  • Regularly: indoor and outdoor work in varied weather conditions, team and independent work, noisy conditions.
  • Occasionally: odors, varied lighting, small and/or enclosed spaces.
Mental Demands
  • Regularly: managing workplace stressors and handling belligerent behaviors.
Substance Exposure & Protective Equipment
  • Occasionally: exposure to chemicals or body fluids, use of protective gear (gloves, masks, etc.).
