HomeSafe Florida is seeking a Youth Development Professional to supervise and care for children in a Specialized Therapeutic Group Home Program. The role requires adherence to daily schedules, behavior management, and thorough documentation to ensure consistent care.

The position involves transporting children, preparing meals, administering medications, and coordinating with the treatment team. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and be at least 21, with a valid Florida

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience with children/adolescents.
  • RBTs encouraged to apply.
  • Florida driver’s license required.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Background check through Clearinghouse.

The

Position Overview

The Youth Development Professional is responsible for the direct care and supervision of children in the Specialized Therapeutic Group Home Program. In order to maintain consistency and continuity of care, this position will adhere to the established daily schedule of activities; implement the behavior management system; maintain open communication with co-workers and administrators and complete all necessary documentation.

Open Shift: Sunday, Monday 7am-3pm, Friday and Saturday 3pm-11pm (Must be able to work all 4 shifts)

  • Supervise and guide children while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
  • Provide transportation, prepare meals, administer medications, and complete daily shift duties.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support treatment goals.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate program records.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and treatment team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations and follow approved intervention procedures.
  • Must be able to safely participate in physical restraints when required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Applicants should have at minimum a high school diploma or GED
  • At least one year experience working with children/adolescent
  • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) encouraged to apply
  • Child Development Associate or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • A valid Florida’s driver’s license is required
  • Be 21 years or older
  • Successful completion of a background check through Clearinghouse (learn more)
Physical Demands
  • Able to physically engage in restraints.
  • May involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight (10-25 pounds).
  • Repetitive sitting; standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; kneeling; talking; and listening.
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to drive.
