Job summary

The Youth Development Professional (YDP) at Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis (BGCI) delivers safe, engaging programs that support youth in Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, and Academic Success and ensures positive daily experiences for Club members.

They model BGCI values—honesty, respect, and responsibility—build meaningful relationships, supervise activities, respond to safety concerns, and foster an inclusive environment during structured and informal programming.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check required.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation to work and program locations.
• Ability to assess situations and solve problems under stress.
• Maintain composure and professionalism at all times.
• Physical ability to move across indoor and outdoor environments and supervise members.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging, age-appropriate programs that promote youth development.
• Provide tutoring, academic enrichment, and life skills activities.
• Mentor and coach volunteers in program areas.
• Build positive relationships with members through active participation and guidance.
• Follow SOPs and report incidents or safety concerns to the supervisor.
